EMC Laboratory

Specialised facility dedicated to the evaluation, diagnosis, and mitigation of electromagnetic interference (EMI). The laboratory provides the necessary environment and instrumentation to ensure the disturbance-free coexistence of complex electronic equipment.

Pre-compliance and Industrial Services

Beyond internal research, pre-compliance testing services are offered to companies aiming to launch new products into the market. Extensive expertise is available regarding the European Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2014/30/EU) and its harmonised standards, guiding industry through the technical requirements for successful CE Marking acquisition whilst preventing costly end-stage redesigns.

01.

Conducted Emissions Analysis

A comprehensive test setup is available to evaluate electromagnetic noise propagated through cabling. Galvanic isolation transformers are utilised to decouple the equipment under test from the mains grid, thereby ensuring a low-noise measurement environment and guaranteeing absolute test reliability.

Advanced techniques are applied for the separation and characterisation of Common-Mode (CM) and Differential-Mode (DM) noise.

02.

Radiated Emissions Analysis

The core of the radiation testing facilities consists of a shielded semi-anechoic chamber lined with radio-frequency absorbing material. This enclosure eliminates wall reflections and attenuates external electromagnetic interference. Within this electromagnetically isolated environment, radiated fields from prototypes and commercial devices can be precisely quantified.
